The notice not to be inferted, unleis the authority to do fo be written at the foot thereof. The notice and authority is to be preferved, and produced to a juftice if required; and a penalty of 50l. for inferting notice without fuch authority, &c. 2. Notice may be given to the clerk of the peace, who fhall forthwith fend a copy to the juftices. Such notice to be effectual. 3. Meetings without notice to be deemed unlawful affemblies. 4. If 12 or more perfons, affembled contrary to this act, fhall continue together one hour after being required by a juftice, &c. to difperfe, they fhall fuffer. 5. Proclamation to be made in the following form: "Our fovereign lord the king chargeth and commandeth all perfons being affembled, immediately to difperfe themselves, and peaceably to depart to their habitations or to their lawful business, upon the pains contained in the act, made in the 36th year of king George the third, for the more effectually preventing feditious meetings and affemblies. God fave the king." 6. If, in meetings holden purfuant to notice, any matter thall be propounded or deliberated upon, purporting that any thing by law eftablished may be altered except by authority of king, lords, and commons, &c. a magiftrate may order them to difperfe; and if 12 or more perfons fhall continue together an hour thereafter, they fhall fuffer death, 7. Juftices at meetings on notice may order perfons, propounding or maintaining propofitions for altering any thing by law established, except by authority of the king, lords, and commons, &c. to be taken into cuftody; and in case of refiftance may caufe proclamation to be made as aforefaid; and, if 12 or more shall continue together an hour thereafter, they shall suffer death. 8. Magiftrates may refort to affemblies, and act; and may require the affiftance of peace officers. 9. Perfons not difperfing within an hour after proclamation may be apprehended; and, if killed or maimed by reafon of their refiftance, the magiftrate, &c. indemnified. 10.
