Prologue is a scholarly journal published quarterly b the National Archives and Records Service of th General Services Administration. Its primary pur pose is to bring to public attention the resources and programs of the National Archives, the regional ar chives, and the presidential libraries. Accordingly Prologue in the main publishes material based, ir whole or in part, on the holdings and programs of: these institutions. In keeping with the nonpartisar | character of the National Archives, Prologue will not accept articles that are politically partisan or that dea with contemporary political issues.

Articles are selected for publication by the editors in consultation with experts. However, final responsi bility for the decision to publish an article rests with the Archivist of the United States. The editors reserve the right to make routine changes in articles accepted for publication, but will consult the author should substantive questions arise. Published articles in nc sense represent the views of the General Services Administration or of any other agency of the United States government.

Manuscripts should be double spaced with generou margins to allow for copy editing. Footnotes shoul also be double spaced and numbered consecutivel in a separate section following the text.

Correspondence regarding contributions and other editorial matters should be sent to the Edite Prologue, National Archives (GSA), Washington, DC 20408.

Subscription rates are $8.00 for one year, $15.00 for two years, and $20.00 for three years. Single issues of the current volume are available for $2.50 each Please make check or money order payable t National Archives Trust Fund (NEPS) and send to the Cashier, National Archives (GSA), Washingter DC 20408. Notice of nonreceipt of an issue must be sent within six months of issue publication dat Back issues are available from Kraus Reprint Co Millwood, NY 10546.
