The advantage of this arrangement is twofold; the learner is thoroughly grounded in the rudiments of Grammar, and at the same time his memory is stored, by means of the Vocabulary, with a fund of words which will prove of essential service to him in his first construing lessons. No definitions of the several Parts of Speech, Declension, Mood, Tense, &c., have been given, as experience proves that these can be more effectively impressed on the mind of the pupil, and more thoroughly understood, by the repeated questions and vivâ voce explanations of the Master.
