Gil Richard Musolf is an Assistant Professor of Sociology at Central Michigan University. He has published on symbolic interactionism in a variety of journals, including: The Sociological Quarterly, Symbolic Interaction, Studies in Symbolic Interaction, Michigan Sociological Review, Sociological Focus, and Journal of Contemporary Ethnography. He has compared postmodernism and SI in Interactionism: Exposition and Critique, edited by Larry T. Reynolds. Professor Musolf also has been an Executive Director of a not-for-profit organization where he wrote and had funded twenty-seven foundation grants. His current project, with Bernard N. Meltzer, is on the relevance of phatic communion for social interaction.
