Instead of belaboring the possibility and requirements of objective social science in abstract fashion, this book takes cultural differences as its starting point. The author discusses the philosophical questions which arise from multiculturality, such as: must we understand others on their own terms and must we assume they are rational? It's a very well written introductory book and I think it goes right to the heart of crucial challenges facing social science today.
